How do I create email accounts, forwarders, and autoresponders? Print

  • 0

You manage all of your domain's email from the Email section of cPanel – mailboxes, forwarders, and automatic replies.

Create a mailbox

  1. Log in to cPanel (see How do I log in to cPanel?) and open Email > Email Accounts.
  2. Click Create, choose the domain, enter the username and a strong password, set a storage limit (or Unlimited), and click Create.

Set the mailbox up in your app or phone using How do I set up my email software?, or check it in a browser at https://yourdomain.com/webmail.

Forward mail to another address

  1. Open Email > Forwarders and click Add Forwarder.
  2. Enter the address to forward from and the destination address, then click Add Forwarder.

Set an automatic reply (autoresponder)

  1. Open Email > Autoresponders and click Add Autoresponder.
  2. Choose the interval, enter the address, and write a subject and message (for example an out-of-office notice). Optionally set start and stop times, then click Create.

Tip: to cut down on spam sent to random names at your domain, set the Default Address to Discard (see Setting up Catch All Email). To improve delivery of the mail you send, see How do I set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for my email?
