Before you start, create the mailbox in cPanel under Email > Email Accounts. You will need the full email address and its password.
Tip: in cPanel, open Email Accounts, then click Connect Devices next to your address to see the exact server settings and automatic setup scripts for your account.
Recommended server settings (secure)
- Incoming (IMAP): your server hostname (for example serverN.4goodhosting.com, shown in your welcome email) – port 993, SSL/TLS
- Outgoing (SMTP): same hostname – port 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: the mailbox password you set in cPanel
- Outgoing server requires authentication: yes (same username and password)
Add the account in Outlook (Microsoft 365 / Outlook 2016–2021)
- Open Outlook and go to File > Add Account.
- Enter your full email address, click Advanced options, tick Let me set up my account manually, and click Connect.
- Choose IMAP.
- Enter the incoming and outgoing settings above (server hostname, ports 993 and 465 or 587, SSL/TLS), then click Next.
- Enter your mailbox password and click Connect.
We recommend IMAP so your mail stays in sync across all your devices. If mail will not send, confirm the outgoing server has authentication enabled, and try port 587 (TLS) if 465 is blocked on your network. To check mail in a browser, go to https://yourdomain.com/webmail.
