Note: this article previously covered BlackBerry devices. The steps below cover current iPhone and Android phones. The same server settings work on any device or mail app.
Email server settings
Use these settings when adding your mailbox. We recommend the secure (SSL/TLS) settings.
- Username: your full email address (you@yourdomain.com)
- Password: the mailbox password you set in cPanel
- Incoming (IMAP): server = your server hostname (for example serverN.4goodhosting.com, shown in your welcome email); port 993, SSL on
- Outgoing (SMTP): same hostname; port 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS); authentication required on, using the same username and password
iPhone / iPad
- Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account > Other > Add Mail Account.
- Enter your name, full email address, and password, then tap Next.
- Choose IMAP and enter the incoming and outgoing settings above in both Host Name fields. Tap Save.
Android
- Open your mail app and choose Add account > Other / Manual setup > IMAP.
- Enter your full email address and password.
- Enter the incoming (IMAP, 993, SSL) and outgoing (SMTP, 465 or 587) settings above, then finish.
Tip: IMAP keeps your mail in sync across all your devices. If mail will not send, confirm the outgoing server has authentication required enabled, and try port 587 (TLS) if 465 is blocked on your network.
